Naomi “Omi” Anna Maria Leilani RiskoOur mother, age 50, of Ka’a’awa Hawai’i went to be with the Lord on Monday December 24th, 2012. She was born on May 21st 1962 to Anjojo and Jiban Kabua on Ebeye, Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands; she was then adopted at the age of three by Kailua couple Bernard and Josephine Jerves. She attended St. Anthony School and Kalaheo High School in Kailua. On April 26th 1983 she married her high school sweetheart, our dad Darrell Risko. Mama spent 27 years as a caregiver to Windward coast kupuna in private home care settings as well as at Ann Pearl Nursing Facility, Aloha Nursing Center, Windward Seniors Day Care Centers (Both Hope and Leedham Centers). She enjoyed canoe paddling in her leisure time with Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe Club.Mama truly loved the Lord and enjoyed worshipping Him in both song and dance. She also took great joy in spending time with her husband (our dad) and family here, as well as traveling home to Ebeye to visit her family there. Mom and Dad would spend time alone in the evenings just praising and worshipping God and sharing His word; those were the best times they had togetherMama was preceded in death by her son (our dear brother) Andrew Risko. She is survived by her husband, Darrell R.K. Risko ; son: Anjojo Risko; daughters: Lee-Ann (Kalai) Rodenhurst, Lahela (Rensen) Jibok, Limike “Kaikai” Risko, and Luana “Ala” Risko; mother: Jiban Kabua of Ebeye, Kwajalein; brother: John Kabua; sisters: Doris Jorbal, Aklina Kabua, and Ami Kabua; 3 granddaughters. Family viewing 9:00 a.m., visitation 9:30 a.m., service 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Church of the Islands 201 North Kainalu Drive, Kailua O’ahu. Burial to be held on Ebeye, Kwajalein. Casual/Aloha attire. Flowers welcome.
