Oriette Afosea Vegas, a beloved resident of Kaneohe, Hawaii, passed away on May 9, 2024, at the age of 70. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on September 22, 1953, Oriette led a remarkable life filled with love, family and adventure.
As a court clerk for the federal government, Oriette’s career took her to places she might not have otherwise visited. Her work allowed her to explore new horizons, and she embraced each opportunity with enthusiasm, especially when she got to share with her family. Oriette’s passion for organization extended beyond her professional life; she was the heart of her home and kitchen, ensuring that everything ran smoothly for her family.
Oriette shared an unbreakable bond with her husband, Rudolph. They were inseparable companions, their enduring friendship and love were evident to all who knew them. Next month, in June, they would have celebrated their 48th anniversary—a testament to their enduring commitment.
In addition to her husband, Oriette is survived by her daughter, Tiffany, who undoubtedly inherited her mother’s culinary skills and kindness. Oriette’s siblings—Stanley (Ella), Elizabeth-Arlis (Blaise), Lila, and Kimberly (Catalino)—also mourn her passing. Her legacy lives on through her granddaughter, Briseis, a bright light in the family.
