Uncle Bob will be missed. My condolences to Aunty Mabel and her family. He lived such a long and fortunate life.
I looked up to him because he was at the top of the field we shared. I sought out his advice and he was open and helpful to me.
He was always interested in what my brothers and I were doing. I felt the closest to him across all the aunts and uncles.
My most memorable moment was a time we were in Uncle Bob's company car and we had to change restaurant plans. Curtis said, let's call mom and tell her. Then Uncle Bob picked up his car phone and called. This is the early 70's. It was impressive to a 12-year-old kid.
What I remember most about his face was when he smiled he would squint to the point where his eyes were just about shut.
