My grandmother, known as "Aunty Rose" to many, was the light of many parties. She loved going to parties and spending time with family and friends. She also loved fashion and is an impeccable dresser. She has fashion sense that no one else has. She loved wearing a hat with aloha attire.
She was also kind-hearted and humble taking us 4 grandchildren in to live with her which I doubt she mentioned to others. We called her "Kaimuki Grandma."
I appreciate everything she has done for my father Harold and my mother Arlene as well as for myself and my siblings. No words can express how grateful I am for her kindness.
I will really really miss her. I take some comfort knowing that she is with our Grandpa and our kupuna (her mother Agnes Kahoe from Kaupo Maui) in Heaven now.
I love and miss you, Kaimuki Grandma! I will really really miss you. XOXOX

Last year we visited Grandma and she noticed Kaela's Fancy clothes/Jewelry and said," Oh so fancy, just like Grandma!" It really meant alot to me to see how much Grandma loved my daughter. One day during our visit, Grandma had on white fancy sunglasses and guess what? Kaela had on the exact pair of white sunglasses! Hopefully my daughter, Kaela Hokulani, can carry on that sense of style that Grandma Tam-Hoy always had! From her Fancy Dresses to Hats she was always proud of who she was. We admired her for being such a strong spirited woman who always spoke her mind. She was always so generous, loving and we are proud to have had her as our Grandma. We will miss our Grandma Tam-Hoy so much and feel so blessed to have had her in our lives for so long. She was an amazing person who we truly admired for the person she was.

My grandparents helped raise me and I am forever grateful for their overwhelming amount of love they gave & for making me who I am today. I took advantage of all my time with them, never missing a moment we loved each other with everything we got. We had fun and life was an adventure with my grandma. She made me laugh and always had stories to tell about her many outings with her dear friends. She had a zest for life and her social calendar was always full. She loved her sweets that made her that much sweeter. My grandma defined class, style, and charisma and I want to celebrate her life by carrying on her legacy. I will continue to live the life she wanted me to because when I smile, I know she is smiling from above too :) Although I will miss her dearly, I know that my grandma is at peace now with my grandpa. They are finally united together again in a sacred and beautiful place called heaven.

OUR SINCEREST CONDOLENCES TO THE TAM-HOY FAMILY. YOUR
MOM WAS A SPECIAL SPIRIT. SHE WAS ALWAYS SO
ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT LIFE, ALWAYS "ON THE GO". SHE WAS
"MRS. ALOHA". I'LL NEVER FORGET HER ENTHUSIASM ABOUT
MY BAKED BEANS AT OUR CLASS REUNION. SHE HAD A COUPLE
SERVINGS, AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT. SHE WARMED MY
HEART. MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU. LOVE, PAULETTE & DOUG
