Sarah Kamala Salera's Obituary
Sarah Kamala Salera, 65 of Kaneohe passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024, in Kaneohe surrounded by her family. Beloved Wife, Mom and Grandma. She was born on November 29, 1958 in Honolulu to the late Raymond and Sarah Baoy. Sarah retired from Hawaii State Traffic Violations after 10yrs. of service. After raising her four children, Sarah went back to work for another 10yrs. and retired from Costco Kapolei. Sarah's Ilima Hula Studio sisters know her better as Nana Baoy. She started hula from the precious age of 5, continued throughout high school and into her college years . Nana (Kamala Baoy) was rewarded 1st runner up in the 1979 Miss Aloha Hula Competition at the Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo, Hawaii. Sarah enjoyed cheering for her sons on the soccer fields and traveling with them across the nation to compete in the USA Judo Junior Nationals as a very supportive and proud Shobukan Judo Club Mom.

She is survived by her husband, Narcis Salera; children, Tatiana Salera-Hanamaika'i, Ariana Salera, Nahoa Salera, Kulana Salera; grandchildren, Mariah and Israel Hanamaika'i; and sisters, Raynette Taketa and Melita Among.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 11am-2pm at Valley of the Temples Mortuary- Makai Chapel.
