It didn't take long for the two of you to completely capture my heart. You were the real deal ... genuine, full of both sweetness and fire, fearlessly open and outspoken, with a fun-loving and playful spirit and a blinding love and affection for each other. You and your beautiful family's kindness and unfailing support brought an unforgettable richness to our lives across the street. I know you are together now where you belong and that helps a little to soothe the pain of losing you. Many tearful hugs and peaceful thoughts to our Amasiu family from all the Burns clan!

My name is Gerry Sakoda. I met your dad at HSVC. Your dad was a very devoted and dedicated husband. He would visit your mom daily, sitting in his chair with his umbrella, rain or shine. You all kept your mom's grave site so beautiful. Always fresh flowers and a perfect green grass covering. It was nice to see all of you visiting mom with dad. Family support to your dad was so uplifting to see. Dad even taught me how to maintain grass covering. My husband's grave site and my grass at home is beautiful too! When he had extra flowers, he would give them to me and I would place them on other graves. He was such a caring, giving and kind friend. I will definitely miss him but I know he is in God's heavenly place with Bernadette, his love of his life. Simon rest in peace. God please bless his family with love, support and strength as they go through this time of loss of their dad, grandpa and uncle. Please bless and watch over his grand daughter, Sophia. My name is Hallie Akioka, I have been friend of your dad since the high school, we also work for Oahu plumbing for years, became sheet metal journeyman in early 1970s, I made the move to California, San Francisco area, while your continue to work at Oahu Plumbing. In 1982 your dad accepted my invitation to come and work in California, your mother also came a few weeks later, with I the week your dad was working for the company I work for a detailing jobs for me and the field, but as thing would happen the call of home for your mom was to strong so the division to go back home was made, but the time your dad and mom stayed with me and my family will always be remember, knowing your dad thru high school and working friend has been a pleasure and enduring. Please accept my sincerest condolences on the lose of your loved one. It was one of the most unnatural and difficult things we can experience.

I hope that the following scripture from the Bible helps to comfort you. At John 5: 28, 29 Jesus himself said that there would come a time when all those in the memorial tombs will come out. Jesus often spoke of the time that this would happen and that soon thinks such as death and sickness would be no more.
