Simon “Coach Pops” Kaainahuna Amasiu, 67, of Kailua, Hawaii, passed away in Kailua, Hawaii on August 18, 2014. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 9, 1947. He was a Sheet Metal Journeyman and also a United States Army Veteran.
He is survived by sons, Joseph and Chad Amasiu; daughter, Denise Lugo; sisters, Victoria Freitas, Flora Simeona and Mary Hoopai; 8 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 5:30-7:00p.m., Thursday September 11, 2014 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; service at 7:00p.m.; additional visitation to be held 9:00-11:00a.m., Friday September 12, 2014 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; service at 11:00a.m.; with burial to follow 1:00p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
